IES-501 Centralized Busbar Protection

IES-501 centralized busbar relay integrates busbar differential protection, bus coupler/section protection (includes overcurrent protection, switch-onto-fault protection, dead zone fault protection and breaker failure protection)and feeder protection(includes overcurrent protection, dead zone fault protection and breaker failure protection). With its modular structure as well as flexible and powerful configuration tool, IES-501 offers future-oriented busbar solutions with high investment security and low operating costs.
The device is freely programmable. Functional logic diagrams can be developed with the use of graphical programming tool which also supports the configuration of binary inputs and outputs, analog inputs, control buttons, LEDs, disturbance recorder, event recorder, and user interface. Freely programmable logic makes it possible to modify typical functional logic diagrams considering a peculiar nature of the protected object. Three basic types of standard 19” case help to choose the most appropriate solution.

Technical Specifications

Features

  • 01

    Multiple Funtion

Highly integrated with complete functions, including phase-segregated current differential protection, CB failure protection, overcurrent protection, dead-zone protection, etc.

  • 02

    Widely Application

Apply to muitiple single line diagram and up to 4 buses and 24 bays.

  • 03

    Advanced Principle

In case of external fault, the differential protection has excellent anti-saturation feature for CT measurements. When the CT's transition time is not less than 3 ms, it does not malfunction in external fault, and quickly operate in internal fault.

  • 04

    High Realibility

For bus coupler equipped with dual CT, when the bus coupler dead-zone fault occurs during busbar parallel operation, only the bus coupler and the bus at dead-zone side are tripped, while the non-faulty bus will not be tripped by mistake.

  • 05

    Fast Tripping

Adopts an impedance-weighting based adaptive anti-saturation method. It is not affected by the load current, and the action time is less than 15ms.

  • 06

    Easy Maintenance

During busbar maintenance, it can exit the busbar low-ratio differential protection through external input. During bay maintenance, it can exit the maintenance bay through external input.
