TRV Capacitor
The primary functions of a TRV capacitor are as follows: To suppress the Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV) across circuit breaker contacts following fault interruption, preventing dielectric breakdown of the breaker gap caused by overvoltage. To reduce the Rate of Rise of Recovery Voltage (RRRV), providing sufficient time for arc extinction and improving the interrupting reliability of the circuit breaker.
