Mongolia’s Pioneering Grid-Forming Energy Storage Project Achieves Successful Operation

We are thrilled to celebrate the successful operation and handover of national first-of-the-kind grid-forming energy storage project in Mongolia. This milestone significantly enhances local power system stability and reliability, realizing local industrial and residential users enjoy #smarter power and better life.
Coupling with existing 30MWp solar power system, the 20MW/80MWh energy storage system reduces the solar abandonment ratio by 16%. The whole generation farm can supply more than 50GWh green electricity to regional grid annually, supporting national decarbonization goals. Moreover, leveraging on the advanced grid-forming capabilities, the system is able to achieve black start at 10kV side.
