Sieyuan HV AC resonant test system deployed for 500 kV cable withstand voltage testing

Transformer

500 kV Cable AC Withstand Voltage Testing with Sieyuan HV AC Resonant Test System

Sieyuan Electric provided a complete HV AC resonant test system for the Guangzhou Chuting 500 kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project. The system was deployed for the on-site AC withstand voltage testing of approximately 20 km of 500 kV XLPE cables installed entirely in power tunnels.
The solution combined a high-power variable-frequency test power supply with a high-Q test reactor to address the high power demand, temperature rise, and complex site conditions associated with long-distance high-voltage cable testing.

High-Seismic-Performance 550 kV Instrument Transformers for a Transmission Hub Project in Peru

Located along the Circum-Pacific Volcanic-Seismic Belt, Peru faces frequent strong earthquakes that impose stringent seismic requirements on substation equipment. Meanwhile, growing power demand in northern regions such as Piura and Tumbes is placing greater pressure on existing transmission infrastructure. For the La Niña-Piura Transmission Hub Project, Sieyuan supplied 157 instrument transformers in the 550 kV and 245 kV classes, for 500 kV and 220 kV transmission systems respectively. The equipment passed full-scale shake-table tests and obtained formal seismic qualification reports, while customized corrosion-resistant and sealing solutions addressed the coastal environment.

Compact 35 kV Containerised Capacitor Bank Solution for a Solar Farm in the UK

This project addressed power-quality challenges at the remote end of a weak grid, while overcoming limited land availability and strict excavation restrictions at a mountainous solar farm in the UK. Sieyuan supplied a highly integrated containerised capacitor bank solution, with all main-circuit equipment — including capacitors, reactors and isolating switches — arranged in a compact three-dimensional layout within a standard container enclosure. All internal busbar connections and secondary control wiring were completed and withstand tests conducted before delivery, eliminating the need for extensive onsite secondary wiring. Only primary cable connections were required during installation, reducing construction activities, minimising exposure to high UK labour costs and site-interface risks, and enabling faster grid connection while meeting power-quality requirements.
